A few lines about the house are enough to start. The suburb, a rough size and the decade the house went up are the most useful details, because they decide the prep and whether lead-safe methods are needed.

1. We read the details and reply by phone or email, usually with a question or two about the surfaces.
2. A time is set to look at the house. Exterior jobs need someone to walk around it; small interior jobs can sometimes start from photos.
3. The written quote follows, listing each surface, the prep, the paint system and the number of coats.
4. Nothing is booked until you accept it. The quote is yours to compare with others.
